Sam joined Voxell at the end of 2019 bringing to the team a high level of skill in the documentation, detailing and clarity in the work we provide. Away from the office, and occasionally on Friday afternoons – Sam enjoys talking about and sharing a delicious whiskey. Aside from whiskey and technology, he gets outdoors and enjoys water sports and walks around the Wellington region, occasionally venturing further. He’s intrigued by zero-carbon living and energy production, biographies and privacy of user information on internet platforms.
Sam has 6 years of experience in architectural design with varied experience across residential, apartments, cafes and small commercial jobs. Having worked across a variety of projects and software’s, Sam’s experience has positioned him at the intersection of technology and design. Sam devotes much of his time to researching new technology within the construction industry. He is inspired by virtual and augmented reality to showcase designs and features to clients.
Sam has a passion for projects that utilise the latest technologies and provide opportunities to solve problems and meet the clients' design requirements. His ideal design opportunity involves stripping away unnecessary elements and providing an architectural solution that fits the idea of the essentialist, creating value by providing less, at a higher quality.
We believe that quality time outside the office is vital to our employees' satisfaction and performance at work. We work hard to develop amazing solutions for clients but don't believe in grinding our staff through constant late nights like other firms; we encourage team members to take time off so they can come back refreshed.

We have drinks every Friday with a great bunch of people which seem to start earlier each week, we celebrate winning and executing projects, company milestones and have one hell a Christmas party each year. We also attend industry events together and get involved in social and fitness causes like Round the Bays.
We place high importance on being transparent and keeping our people informed. Our CEO hosts a weekly meeting to share the company's priorities and what's been happening. The hierarchy is completely flat and we respect the views and inputs of all, not only our leadership and our people but our customers as well.
